Day 4: All about me

Firstly in Day 3 Grandkids I got it wrong.  So sorry shane i knew it was over that side of the world somewhere darling but he is going to Cambodia.

Now to todays post - what can i say, all about me, thats boring to begin with.  I have always had a dream of being in a position to help people who have had some rough times.  I began seeking out this dream and started studying at Massey university extramurally to get my Bachelor of Social Work.  Well to say it was tough is an understatement.  Many tears later I achieved enough to gain the Certificate in Social Work.  there must be an easier way.  So I set off to CPIT to attend as a day student.  They would not recognised what I had already done which was disappointing but I though what is three years full time.  So off I went all excitement on my first day.  A couple of weeks into it God decided this was not the way to go about it and crash I was sick.  Many hospital visits and painful decisions later I went back to Massey extramurraly for the second semester.  Great.  I was doing really well and keeping up when I made the fatal mistake of becoming complacent and while on holiday at Cass and Chris's I ended up in Kew Hospital Invercargill.  Then they found out to add to my list of ailments I was thyrotoxic.  I went home feeling miserable.  My GP then sent me to Christchurch for tests.  While there I had another hospital visit that showed I had pancreatitis..  OK God enough is enough, give some to the bastards of the world I have things to achieve here.  And then the clanger.  The doctors told me I had two months to live.

Now that was a funny moment really.  I cried, I got angry, I got sad, I was all over the place.  I went from not believing them to planning my funeral.  Now four months on and one pregnant daughter, one son and one daughter getting married, one step-son getting married and rushing all over the place I have hardly thought about it lately and yet the prognosis is still the same.  I am supposed to be dying but have got more energy than I have had in years.  I guess God has something else for me to do but he has been a bit low on my agenda lately with the its not fair attitude.  Now I dont have time for that it seems to all be in his hands.  I guess when the time comes I will be well and truly ready for the rest.

Study - well somehow it doesnt seem so important anymore and I have the Certificate in Social Work to prove I can do it.

Future plans - I dont really have any specific plans anymore except to be there when I can for my family in the hopes that they will have only fond memories of me after I have gone.

Expectations - The days when I cant breath very well at all my expectations are of a slow painful death then the next day I wake feeling slightly better and my expectations are of being here a long time and enjoying my family.  I guess it is mind over matter and thankfully my illness quite often no longer matters.

My Grandkids

Well where do i start without upsetting anyone.

I will just do my biological grandchildren I think.

Shane - Good at sports, very witty and has a quick sense of humour.  A very caring boy who has a passion for the underdog and plans to travel to Africa to help with children in an orphanage.  he is a very good looking young man and is never short of admirers.

Neihana - Good at sport, loves play station, is very witty like his brother and makes everyone smile all the time.  He is very intelligent and has great things in his future to come.

Faith - A very determined little diva who has the looks to match.  She is the most photogenic young lady I have seen in a long time.  She is intelligent and is very enquiring to learn everything she can like a wee sponge.

Joshua - Just a wee honey with an anger problem that he tries so hard to control  He is very intelligent and cannot understand the unfairness that is in the world today.  He is really into sports and is learning to use this as a means to get where he wants to go.  He is fast in sport and also a real thinker as to where to be at any given time to enhance the team result.

Jordan - He is here for a speciic purpose.  I dont know yet what the purpose is but when you get close to Jordie you just feel it.  He is caring, loving and always smiling.  His nature just flows into you so even on a really bad day you begin to feel good.

Amanda Margaret - A real cutie who learnt very quick that if she rolls her eyes and bats her eyelids she will get people to melt and do as she wants.  She is so ready for school but has just over a year to go so is making the most of kindy at the moment.  She too loves dressing up and getting her hair done and responds well to the efforts made to make her look beautiful.

Brendon Rochelle and Nadine are more distant to me as they live away from my children and I do not see them much but I do catch up on Facebook and know they are alright and that Nana loves them.

Day 2 My famiy in general

Number 1 son - Getting married this year in May to Tory,  I cant wait.  Keven has been in America since forever and I really miss him.  He drives a truck and trailer unit interstate and we get to see America by his many photos of his trips.  He is 40 in May so not a little boy but he is still my little boy.  Miss him so much.  Keven has two children Brendon who is 20 and Nadine who is 15.

Number 2 child - Melissa (or Nelly as we call her now) lives in Waiau which is about 1 1/2 hours north of christchurch.  She works as a nurse in the Cheviot Rest home and loves her job.  She is married to Charlie since Adam wore knickers.  They are both awesome.  They have a daughter Rochelle who is grown and left home.  They are the dependable couple that if you need someone they are there.  they own their own home and are doing really well.

Number 3 child - Cassandra (or Cass as we call her when we are being nice) who is married forever to Chris.  They have 3 children and the 4th due in June.  Their names are Shane 12, Neihana 9, Faith 6 and Baby Gaga or something that is on its way soon.    They live in Invercargill, which is as far as Keven from us nearly although we can talk on the phone. They too own their own house and Chris works as a Social Worker and Cass is also studying Psychology.

Number 4 child - Karla is newly engaged to Iain Pow and they are getting married next year.  Her first relationship broke up after 10 years but she has three beautiful children Joshua 9, Jordan 6, Amanda Margaret 3 to make up for the sadness.  She is now very happy and lives in Christchurch.  She also works as a nurse in a rest home in christchurch and is doing very well at her job.

The other 4 children that never made it are for#ever in my heart and not forgotten but not dwelt on either to avoid going insane.

Their mother, me, Margaret, is in the final stage of emphysema, has graves disease, thyrotoxicosis, pancreatititis and generally tired, also suffering depression.  I am blessed by such a wonderful family and share them with my third husband Peter.  He is caring, loving but very loud and annoying too.  I love him to bits.

This last statement also brings in more children - angela is married to Nigel and just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.  They live in Christchurch and we have a very close relationship.  They have two wonderful daughters Stephanie who is 16 and Jennifer 15.  They are both at Papanui High.

Next is Andrew who is getting married to Sharon this November.  He has children from two previous marriages Jessica who has two children of her own now, Johnny who is 18, Tahu 9 and Jack 6.

I also have two children from a previous marriage to Stan Wilson and they are Paul and Katrina.  Paul now has a son and Katrina has a 12 year old son called Calib.

I hope whoever reads this is as blessed as I am to have such a wonderful family.

Neihana

Thanks to my grandson I thought I better do a blog too cos I need to keep in close contact with him.  He is really good at it and I am so proud of him.

Today they had snow while we had a lovely sunny day.  On Friday I go to Christchurch.  They will cut my throat and take out my thyroid.  Oh well, dont need it anyway it is only causing me to be sick.  A bit nervous but am excited to see Karla and her kids too.  Hopefully I get to see Nellie as well.

Not much to say really as I havent done much.
